What is a Letter Before Action?

A Letter Before Action (LBA) is a formal written warning that you intend to start legal proceedings if the debt is not paid. Under the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims, sending an LBA is an expected step before filing a claim in the small claims court. NudgeBadger generates LBA templates; these are not legal documents and do not constitute legal advice.

How much does NudgeBadger cost?

Your first letter is free. After that, PAYG letters are available for a small per-letter fee. Pro Chase (£14.99/month) gives you unlimited letters, a full letter tracker, automated payment reminders, and escalation resources. You can cancel anytime.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, anytime. Go to Account > Manage Billing to cancel through the Stripe billing portal. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period and you will not be charged again.

Will my client know I used NudgeBadger?

Accepted Answer

No. The letters are sent by you directly; NudgeBadger is not mentioned anywhere in the letter content. The only footer on printed versions says the letter was generated as a template, but you can review and edit all content before sending.

Is my data safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore with Firebase Auth. We use HTTPS throughout. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card details. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties, except the processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

What if the debtor disputes the invoice?

If a debtor raises a genuine dispute about the quality of work or the amount owed, you should address the dispute directly before continuing to chase. NudgeBadger provides information resources on next steps, but for formal disputes you should consult a solicitor. Citizens Advice can also provide free information on your rights.

Do I need an account to use NudgeBadger?

You can generate your first letter without signing in. Creating a free account lets you save your letters, access your chase history, and have your business details pre-filled on future letters.
